I was a bit surprised to find no Hyperlink Element under Add Element in the editor.

Is the only way to add a hyperlink onto the slider by using Custom code?

Hello,

Any HTML code can be added in "Text" element. For hyperlink the following HTML code can be used (just switch "Interpret the following text as" parameter to "Html"):

Code:

<a href="https://www.google.com" target="_blank">Link</a>

When you use the text element that way, the styling of the link (e.g. hover colour) is very limited. The only way to add these extra link styling is by using Custom Code Element. That's why I'm saying there should be a more streamlined way to add hyperlink in your slider.
