See "Sub-menu items styles -> Text align" parameter in module settings.

Yes. It's set to Left, but continues to align center. Tried changing the alignment to other options (with clearing the joomla cache each time) and it remains set to center.

Could it be a conflict with a different style sheet?

Have you set "Sub-menu items styles -> Use main styles" parameter to "No"?
