Direct access to a search result via URL extension 5 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi there

Would it be possible to generate a direct access to a filtered table?

We use kb.ghgo.ch/abfrage to help accessing church records in an online database of our State Archive. Sometimes it would be very helpful to provide an URL to our database with a search result and not only with the possibility to search. Is there any possibility existing to add this instruction to an URL like ?search=Berneck or something else?

Thanks for any help or at least a feedback that it is not possible.

Best regards,
Heinz

Hello,

Open "ARI Smart Content - Data Table" module settings page and populate "Default search string" parameter with the following value:

{$REQUEST:search}

After this the module will "search" request variable to filter results on page load.

Hi ARI Soft

Thanks for your reply.

If I do understand this correct then this way will force the search data before loading to filter it. And the result will be the same as on the existing procedure after loading the data unfiltered.

What I'm looking for is to use the table as it is but to provide a separate link to load the table with a predefined search request.

Maybe this is not possible?

Thanks for your help.

Heinz

Hello,

Use GET "search" parameter in the URL to show different results. For example the following code will filter results using "test" search string:

Code:

https://www.doman.com/reports.html?search=test

Thanks AriSoft!

I guess this will work if I have a page only with the ARI Smart Data Table and not having implemented the Data Table as a Joomla Module within an element in a page! So the GET-instruction will work for the whole page - but should work only for the Data Table!

There is no way to add a GET "search" parameter for a part of the page - isn't it?

Hello,

Parameters are added to page URL, not to a part of a page. If you have several modules on a page, it is possible to use parameters with different names for each module.
