Math Equation and screen capture 14 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi, I'm interested buying ARI Quiz.
But I need to find out whether ARI Quiz meets my needs.
If I want to make a math quiz with lots of equation, can I make it directly without any addition tools?

Same as above, can I take a screen capture and insert it to the question directly?

Thank you,
Suripto

Hello,

Thanks for your interest in ARI Quiz. Regarding your questions:

1) We suppose you can use images for this purpose because we don't know any tools for Joomla! which can create math equations easily.

2) You can use WYSIWYG editor for entering question text, usually editors support possibility for inserting image and you can use ability for inserting images with equations to question.

PS: You can try to use MimiTeX plugin, but it requires installation of MimeTeX engine on your web server. You can also be interested in this article, it describes how to create image with equations from TeX files.

Thank you for your quick response. May I have Another questions.
Currently I'm using ARI-QuizLite to make a lots of Quizzes on localhost before I decided to buy ARI-Quiz. But I failed to make a link in order to show only a part of a Quiz (for instance, I want to show only a particular Question Category). Is it possible in ARI-QuizLite, how? If it is not, will it possible in ARI Quiz?
Can I then export/import my Quizzes from ARI-QizLite to ARI-Quiz, how?
I manage to use equation script from codecogs.com in ARI-QuizLite to write equations and it works nicely. But I want to write equation on the answers too. Apparently I failed to use it in the answers (multiple questions type question). Will it possible in ARI-Quiz?
In ARI-QuizLite, I cannot make the answer's choices appear randomly, will it also possible in ARI-Quiz?
Can I alter the word "choice 1", "choice 1" etc in the front-end answer choices with more simple "A" "B", etc? How?

Sorry for this long questions. Hope you're OK with this.

Regards,
Suripto

Hello,

Don't worry, you can ask any questions you may have about the component. Regarding your questions:

1. If you want to load only part of questions from question category, you can set 'Question Count' option for necessary question category.

2. You can uninstall ARI Quiz Lite and install ARI Quiz. In this case, ARI Quiz Lite will be updated to ARI Quiz and all data will remain untouched.

3. You can type HTML in answer text. It means that you can use IMG HTML element for inserting image. We will add possibility for using WYSIWYG editor for answers in one of the future versions of ARI Quiz.

4. You can do it with ARI Quiz. It contains 'Answers Order Type' option in quiz settings which helps do it. Only set this option to 'Alpha UpperCase'.

PS: You can see ARI Quiz in action on our demo site.

Thank you for the response. Sorry to bother you again (I understand if you get bored with me). I think you misunderstood my #1 question (or I did not make my question clear).
What I meant was, I have quizzes and I divide each quiz into several Question Categories. I want to show only a specific Question Category within the quiz, not all questions. But instead, the front always shows all questions. Is it possible in ARI Quiz Lite or ARI Quiz? How?

Suripto

The component can load necessary number of questions from question category and select them randomly, but it doesn't support ability for skiping question categories. In other words, if you have quiz and it contains 3 question categories each of them contains 3 questions, quiz will select questions from all questions categories, if you have set 'Question Count' option in question category settings, quiz will select only necessary number of questions from this question category. For example if you set this option to '2', quiz will select 2 instead of 3 questions from this question category.
