I am writing a photo blog frequently on my homepage, sometimes i am linking to pictures directly on my server, for example:

"This is my example text, this part is linking to an image"

The picture will then be opened in a new browser tab. I dont't really like this, i would prefer, to open that image in a single pretty photo lightbox window, without leaving the photo blog article. Is it somehow possible to do so?
