I recently installed this extension on my website and seem to be experiencing the same problem.

I added the CSS rule in the CSS Styles box in the editing screen of the module and it still does not work properly. The menu appears/disappears ramdonly. Is that correct?

This is not "ARI Image Slider" problem, this is a problem with site template styles. Provide link to page where we can see the problem that we can investigate it.

I am working on my computer on a local server so I don't think there's a way I can send you the link just yet.

But looking through the forum I found some similar threads and used the CSS given as solutions. The problem persisted anyway.

What happens now is, the menu will go behind the image in the slideshow for as long as it takes the image to transition to the next. If the transitions are fast, then I can barely see the menu.

The CSS rules I used are:

.main .navigation { position:relative;}
div.art-header { position:relative; z-index:1;}
#s5_header_wrap { position:relative; z-index:999;}

Hopefully this description makes sense and brings light to the problem.
