Current/Active State 13 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hello,
I recently started using the ARI ext menu module and I was wondering, is it possible to create the "current" state for an entire section of a site? For example, on my site I have an "About" tab. When you click on it, it displays a secondary sub menu on the left-hand column. However, the highlight (current or active state) on "about" goes away after I click on these other menu items. Here is the site I'm working on if it helps...

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Thank you very much!

Hello,

It seems menu items on "About" page is not sub-menu of "About" page in Joomla! menu manager. In this case it is impossible to highlight menu items in top menu.

Thank you for your quick response! You are correct these menu items are not a sub menu of the "About" tab...is there a way to do that? I don't want them to be drop-down items, but instead additional items on the left side of the page. Is there a way to do this that you know of? Thank you!

You can move the menu items to sub-menu of "About" menu item and use "Start Level" and "End Level" parameters in module settings that specify what menu items should be shown.

Thank you again for your help, I think I was able to figure that out so now I have two different sub menus on the pages, one for the "About" section and one for the "consulting services" section. I really like having the sub menu items on the actual page instead of a drop down menu. Is there a way to only display them on the page but turn off the drop down menu for certain items?

For example, under "About". I'm OK with having the "Our Team" in the drop down, but can I turn off the 3rd level where the menu drops to the right and shows "bob smith" and "sue johnson"?

Again the link for reference:

I promise I'll leave you alone after this, sorry for all of the bothersome questions. I really appreciate your help!

Do you play with "Start Level" and "End Level" parameters in module settings?
