Is there a way to add menu images to the menu? When you select a menu Image from the menus "Parameters(basic") It does not show up on the menu. Is there a way around that?

Menu template file is located by the next path:

<joomla_directory>\modules\mod_ariextmenu\mod_ariextmenu\templates\menu.html.php

Extra menu item parameters can be got from '$menuParams' variable (see line #47).
