I am using the {$created} variable to add the date to the end of articles display.

The date is appearing in "2011-02-18 08:00:00" format.
I would like the date to appear "Tuesday 25 January 2011".
The regular date formatting language/en-GB/en-GB.ini file does not appear to have any effect.
There does not appear to be any date formating in language/en-GB/en-GB.mod_arieasyslider.ini.
