TOPIC: Format a number?
#35639
Format a number? 11 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Is it possible to format a number? For instance, I am pulling records from a database that are numbers like 823453450

can I format it to 823,453,450?

If I format it in the database it converts it into a string and I don't know how to convert it back into a number (is that possible?).

I need it as a number so I can sort it in the ARI Data Tables.

thanks!

Since I was formatting the numbers in the sql it was converting the field to a string, so I tried using Table sorter and it works. Is this the best method?

Hello,

If you use "ARI Data Table" widget, set "Choose table type -> ARI Data Table -> Columns settings -> Index" parameter to zero-based index of column with number and set "Choose table type -> ARI Data Table -> Columns settings -> Sorting type" to "Numeric HTML" value.
