Sorry but that's not possible as it's a client's machine.
The reason for my original question about compatibility was that I have another site with Joomla 1.5.22 which works correctly with very similar code. I thought perhaps there is an issue with J 1.2.25?
I will try to set up another machine to which I can give you access.

Did you ever find a resolution to this issue? I have the same issue, and have verified that I am using the correct syntax. The debug shows that it is not parsing the {$REQUEST:variablehere} in the WHERE clause, but rather simply using that string as part of the query, which of course results in an error.
