It would be very, very nice to have ARI JNewsSlider have the ability to automatically scroll to another article in the assigned set. That way, it can be used as a dynamic newsflash sort of component.

The feature is implemented. Now ARI JNewsSlider has auto-rotate feature.

Two options are responsible for this functionality:
rotate - Set up an automatic rotation through tabs of a tab pane. Values: milliseconds;
stopRotate - Stop rotate after user action. Values: true, false;

The latest version of component can be downloaded in member area.

Yes.

You can extract com_arismartcontent/install/plugins/content/%plugin_name% to some folder and then go to Components -> ARI Smart Content -> Plugins and install plugin indicating this folder. %plugin_name% here is the name of plugin you want to install.

But probably the faster and easier way is to uninstall/install the component.
