TOPIC: module size and image directories

module size and image directories 11 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi ARI team

I have two questions. In the parameter screen I can define the size of the module. Since the images I am showing have different sizes but I want always a specific width (235px) I would like to configure the height dynamic. With other words, I would like to be able to set no parameter in the module height and my used template decides what height is needed while showing the image.

The second question I have is, that I would like to exclude directories. Let me show an example how my image structure (by another module) is built.

images/module name of the gallery/directory name top level/date/images/*.jpg
images/module name of the gallery/directory name top level/date/images/thumbnails/*.jpg

So, the gallery module creates another directory within the images directory. I would like to exclude it, without listing 100 of image directories, since those should be kept dynamic as well.

My configuration in ARI Image Slideshow looks currently like this:

images/module name of the gallery/directory name top level
and scan sub-folder is set to Yes

Any recommendations? Or could this maybe be a future change?

Thanks for your support
Heinz

Hello,

1. The module works properly with images which have the same dimensions. If images with different dimensions are used in slider, you can resize them and fill empty space with a background color. The module can resize images and fit (or crop) them to viewport. See "Create thumbnail method -> Resize" parameter.

2. Download and upgrade "ARI Image SlideShow" module. New version of the module supports ability to specify names of folders which which will be ignored by the extension during images selection. Use "Excluded directories" parameters for this purpose. In your populate the parameter with thumbnails value.
