Also, to expand upon the initial question, I was curious if there was a way to make a menu that allows you to jump to a particular slide?

Hello,

Download and upgrade "ARI Slider" module please. The latest version can handle the following links to slider menu items:

<a href="#" rel="1" class="ari_slider_link">Go to Item #2</a>

Specify zero-based index of menu item which you want to show if a user click by the link in "rel" attribute.
