How can I change the word "quis" to the word "test" in the layout, menu and section. Quiz is used on such pages as "Quiz Result Statistics" and on the menu next to start date, end date, etc. I'd like to change quiz to test or exam where ever it is found in my layout. How can this be done?

You can use for this purpose 'Languages Frontend' section on backend of the component. You can click 'Add' button, change all needed messages, click 'Save' and set this new language by default. Or you can choose 'English' language, click 'Export', translate needed messages in exported XML file, import it with help 'Import' button and set this language by default. Open 'Menus->Main Menu' page on your Joomla backend for changing menu label.

Thanks but I still am unable to change the labels/headers that show on the menu bar. I'd like to change these tabs or menu bar labels for instance those showing under Result List (quiz, start date, end date...)

You can change it in 'Text Templates' section on backend of the component.

I think you're misunderstanding what I am referring to. I am not referring to text template but to the menu bar. Perhaps you should visit the site in question and see for yourself. Is there a way to send you the link as the site is still in preproduction phase with vulnerable content, and you will also need a username and password to view the test area.
Once again I am trying to change the word "QUIZ" to "TEST" on the menu bar in the Quiz or test statistics page (and any where else "quiz" appears as a menu option.
This cannot be found in any of the locations you have mentioned.
I really appreciate knowing if in fact this item can be changed at all.
