Regarding your questions:

1) It isn't necessary delete tables. You can unistall the previous version and install new version through standard Joomla! installation page and all data remains untouched.

2) You can read our twitter page and news page that know about new releases.

Hi,
i had same problem so i didnt find any solution for that, but one thing can be done that is set complete quiz time but remove question time, leave the question time blank so your total quiz time will be considered not question time..
