Various points re datatables vs smartcontent 12 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
I've downloaded this product as I've taken over running a website that I've migrated temporarily to my local drive - so I can investigate upgrading from Joomla 1.5 to 1.6 or 1.7.

I was getting a 'arijtablesorter sorting=false paging=false' error and thought that this was due to a license problem with datatables - but I now realise the original set up must have been done using the ari-smart content - not the datatables module.

I was considering either having to buy the ari-smart content (but don't like the fact that this is licensed per site and so I guess you need to get it twice just to develop on your local computer & I wasn't sure that this was also J1.6 or 1.7 compatible.

So I was thinking with the datatables interface it's probably not too much work to set up new equivalent tables, but the module seems designed around setting up one table - and the current site uses it 3 times to display 3 different tables. I'm sure this wouldn't be true but how would you set up 3 different tables or can you reload the module 3 times.

Would your advice be to stick with the datatables, or go with the ari smart content?

Cheers, Domc

Hello,

Sorry for the delay. "ARI Smart Content" v. 1.8.0 is compatible with J! 1.6 and 1.7 and can be used on any number of sites.

ARI Soft
