Create/edit event
Event parameters are grouped by categories and it is possible to switch between them using tabs. Four groups of parameters are available:
- Main settings contains main parameters like name, description, color and etc.
- Metadata is used to define meta tags for better SEO.
- Access & Security contains parameters which are used to grant permissions for some actions (delete, edit and etc.) for the event and child events.
An additional section is available at right side of the page. It is used to set parameters like state, access levels, language and etc. which are used on frontend. These parameters are described in Frontend Access section.
See description of each parameter below.
Main settings
- ID is record number in the database. Can be used by a 3rd party extension to manipulate with the entity.
- Name is a name of the event.
- Color is a color which can be use as text or background color. If it is empty, color of the calendar will be used.
- Venues are venues where the event occurs. Can be empty. It is possible to select from existing venues or create new venues using "+ Add" button. All created venues will be also available on Venues page.
- Timezone is used to specify timezone which will be used for dates in "Start date" and "End date" parameters. It selects timezone of currently logged user by default. If the parameter is set to "- Neutral timezone -" value, timezone will be ignored and all users will see the same dates for this event on frontend. It is useful for example if event is used for a birthday or a national holiday. If want to create an event for a meeting which occurs from 15:30 till 15:45 London time, it is important to indicate the correct time zone. If create an event to indicate American Independence day (4 July), set the parameter to "- Neutral timezone -" value because this date is the same for all timezones.
- All day event if it is enabled the event will last all day.
- Start date is a start date of the event.
- End date is an end date of the event. Can be empty.
- Recurrent event is used to create a recurrent event if it is set not to "None". The following common parameters are supported:
- Repeat till the event will occur till the selected date.
- Interval is used to define an interval for a repeat the event. For example if it is set to 2, the event will occur only each second time according to recurrence parameter. If the event should occur each Monday since 2 November 2015 and the parameter is set to 3, then it will occur on 23 November 2015, 14 December 2015 and etc.
- Repeat count is used to specify how many times the event should occur. If the event occurs each Monday since 2 November 2015 and the parameter is set to 2 then it occurs only two times 2 November 2015 and 9 November 2015. If the parameter is empty or set to 0, the event will occur till the date which is defined in Repeat till parameter.
The following recurrence types are supported:
- Weekly is used to repeat event each week on the selected days. Days (Monday, Tuesday and etc.) when it should occur can be selected in Days parameter.
- Monthly is used to repeat event each month. Depends on value of Period parameter it is possible to repeat the event:
- Day in specific days (for example 1st and 15th days)
- Week week days in the selected weeks (for example each Monday and Friday on the first and the last week of a month).
- Yearly is used to repeat the event each year.
