I just upgraded to the new version and suddenly I got a timeout on every page. The problem was that the function isSelfOrParentActive($id) was called endlessly. My menu structure was: Menu1 --Sub1 --Sub2 ----SubSub1 ----SubSub2 ----SubSub3 Sub2 was a menu item alias pointing to Menu1. After changing that to "single article" everything worked perfectly.
