You can read how add article link to menu there writenowdesign.com/tips/joomla-how-to-tips/joomla-training-1.5.2.3.html . No need link menu item with ARI Smart Content. In brief: 1. Create menu item with type Internal Link->Articles->Article Layout 2. Select appropriate article and set other option (for example: 'On Click, Open in:') 3. Click 'Save'. Sorry, it seems that we misunderstanding you. It is not possible that ARI Smart Content worked with menu item. It works only with content.
