TOPIC: Fancy Thumbnail - thumbnail cache time

Fancy Thumbnail - thumbnail cache time 14 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm using Fancy Thumbnail with some images that get updated daily.

The thumbnails never update. They're still showing the picture from last week rather than the current picture. The lightbox image is fine, but the thumbnail is outdated.

Is there a way to configure how often the thumbnail is generated?

Hello,

Sorry for delay. We have updated 'ARI Fancy Thumbnail' plugin. Now it contains new parameter 'No cache' and check modified image date and update it and thumbnail if needed. You can download the latest version of the component in 'Member Area'.

I tried the new version but unfortunately a new problem arose. When an image opened in a lightbox, firefox scaled the image down to the same size as the thumbnail. If the image was then zoomed to original size with firefox, the lightbox would have scrollbars.

I had already rewritten my code to create separate thumbnails as the images update, so i'm not too worried about having this functionality in the plugin. But thanks for adding the feature!

I seem to have a new problem since installing the new version, then uninstalling it and reinstalling the original 1.5.3 I downloaded.

I'm using FancyThumbnails within Accordion within Tabs. Now the thumbnails will not display properly in IE within the accordion if I've specified my own thumbnail using srcSmall. They do display correctly if I don't specify a thumbnail and allow the plugin to create the thumbnail.

An example of this behavior is:
freshsnow.info/snow-reports/snow-forecast

The first two tabs are using auto-created thumbnails. The third tab is using the srcSmall parameter. They display correctly for me in FF3, but not in IE7. They displayed correctly in both IE7 and FF3 before trying to upgrade to the new version.

Thanks

Hello,

We have investigated this issue. We can offer the following solutions:

1) Set 'autoHeight' property in 'ARI JAccordion' plugin to 'false'.

or

2) Download the latest version of the component in 'Member Area' and re-install it.

or

3) You can find in your mail box letter with instructions how to update only 'ARI Fancy Thumbnail' plugin.

1) This works if I configure it on the plugin page, but not if I add the autoHeight="false" option to the tags (I'd prefer to leave this on by default and just turn it off for these problematic items)

2) This didn't resolve the problem. Additionally, it recreated the problem of the pop ups displaying with scrollbars

3) Same results as #2

Is is possible to go back to how it was before? I appreciate your responsiveness in adding features, but I'd rather not be a beta tester. I've put in quite a bit of time just to have more problems than originally.

I've attached the code from the article in question. Some thumbnail items have a srcSmall and others don't since I was testing.
