I don't have ghostscript installed, but I can manually create the images for the pages (jpeg or png). I just need instructions on configuration, that is - where to place them, and how to make them known to Smart Book for processing.

Hello,

The extension can create books based on images from the selected folder(s). For this when create a book select "Images" value in "Pages are created from" drop-down, open "Pages source" tab on book settings page and populate "Directories" parameter with relative path(s) to folder(s) with images. For example if want to show images from <joomla_directory>/images/my_book folder, populate the parameter with the following value:

images/my_book

Images can be uploaded via Joomla! media manager.

If you need more assistance or have other questions, let us know.

Regards,
ARI Soft

I was hoping that there was a way to change your mind about the source once the initial setup has been done for a book. That's what happened to me. I chose PDF without understanding that you need additional software to make it work. I was hoping that I could just flip a switch and change my mind without having to start over. You might consider this for a "future" option.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The extension can convert PDF files also via CloudConvert online service. It doesn't require to install any software on your server, just create CloudConvert account and specify an API key in "ARI Smart Book" settings.
