I have a tone of K2 articles with <img>s in them. Is there a way to implement the Lightbox withouth modyfing all

to

<a href="image.jpg" rel="sexylightbox><img src="image.jpg" /></a>

???

Could you explain what should be shown into the lightbox for <img src="image.jpg" /> code? When <a href="image.jpg" rel="sexylightbox><img src="thumbnail.jpg" /></a> code is used, link from "href" attribute of "A" tag is loaded.

PS: Do you use "ARI Sexy Lightbox Lite"?

I use ARI Sexy Lightbox not the Lite

I show my images at a 100% width of page about (1000px) when they are in the K2 blog article. I want people to be able to click on that image (I know it's big already) but I want them to be able to click it and popup a lightbox showing the full size image of about 1200px.

existing code: <img src="/images/example.jpg" width="100%"/>

it would be a lot of work for me to change the html in a few hundred pages to this:

<a href="/images/example.jpg" rel="sexylightbox">
<img src="/images/example.jpg" width="100%"/>
</a>

is there an automatic way of implementing the plugin?

a DOM re-write or something that will generate the required <a rel="sexylightbox" ... > tag automatically at render time?
