Module instructions say, "For indicating folder(s) from which you want to show images, use 'Directories' parameter. Place each necessary folder on new line in 'Directories' textarea. Joomla! root directory will be used as root path for this folders."

I host several sites on the same server. What I am needing is to create image galleries from folders that are on the same server, but not in the Joomla! root directory. Is there any way to use a server root path? Or even a link to a directory in another domain?

There are many MBs of photos and I'm trying to avoid duplicating them in separate directories for each site.

Currently the extension can show images from Joomla! root folder and sub-folders.
