As far as I can see the provided demo (213.179.193.106/~lastleaf/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=27) includes the 6000px CSS snippet but still does not work in IE8.

Sorry for all the trouble Im causing! Your support is highly appreciated.

You mentioned the problem was caused by missing width within a slider widget. Can you explain to me why this breaks the opacity in IE?

Alpha filter works incorrectly in IE when width of element more than 65535.

Thanks for you response! I was able to determine our problem: the page is too large. As soon I delete some contents so the document height is smaller the opacity works like expected.

I found a bug ticket at jQuery bugtracker: bugs.jqueryui.com/ticket/6801
