When trying to make a new language I get the following error:
XML Parsing Error at 1:15. Error 57: XML declaration not finished
and the changes won't save.

I have also been able to work around the
set_magic_quotes_runtime() and ereg() deprecated errors
do you already have a solution for this.

Could you provide link to page where we can the problem and temporary access to your Joomla! backend by email that we can investigate it?

Try to switch off WYSIWYG editor.
