Orbit Slider and Pretty Photo lightbox integration 13 Years ago Karma: 0
I just purchased Pretty Photo to integrate with Orbit Slider.
Bare with me, this might be hard to explain...

This is what I wanted the two extensions to do:
The Orbit Slider images to be different images from the ones that will open in Pretty Photo lightbox.

Essentially, I thought the "Thumbnails" and their respective path, could be different from the "image path" images or 'original images' (the ones I thought would pop in the Pretty Photo modal).

What's even more peculiar, if I choose "NO" under "Use Thumbnails", then the lightbox (Pretty Photo) becomes inactive when images in the Orbit Slider are clicked.
That would lead me to believe that the "Thumbnails" are the images that are popped in the modal window.
But no matter how I tried to configure it, the only images that appear to be showing up in the Orbit Slider and/or the Pretty Photo lightbox are the ones listed under the "image path" input box.

Does that make any sense?

What I'm trying to do is have the teaser images be in the Orbit Slider, and when clicked, they pop a secondary gallery with more images that are much larger.

Can the thumbnails path only be as instructed ( subflder/ {$fileName} ) or can it be anything? Do they absolutely have to be named the same?

Sorry if this is rather confusing. Any help you can toss my way, I'd be so thankful!

Also: I wanted the scrollbar thumbnails in Pretty Photo lightbox to be like the example on your site, but they're way up at the top. Was that custom styling, and not actually part of the build? And, like others in the forum, the pp_details info is underneath the border around the modal.

Thanks again!

Hello,

If original images are located in <joomla_dir>/photos/album1 folder and custom thumbnails with the same name as original images are located in <joomla_dir>/photos/album1/small_photos directory, populate the next parameter with following values:

"Scan subfolders" -> "No"

"Image Path" -> "photos/album1"

"Use thumbnails" -> "Yes"

"Thumbnails path" -> "small_photos/{$fileName}"

You can use different value for "Thumbnails path" parameter, not only "thumbs/{$fileName}". {$fileName} predefined variable contains name of original image file.

Thank you for clarifying. I've set it up accordingly and it's working. Just a couple of issues..
It might be the size of the image that I'm opening, but the lightbox seems to be having trouble with the images. It's blinking and for a moment between the image transition, the browser window scrollbars appear. See the dev link below.

IF you can help me figure it out, that would be great!

I also downloaded 'sexylightbox light', to see if that would handle the images better. But it doesn't seem to be working with orbitslider, even after selecting 'sexylightbox' in the lightbox dialog. I'd love to use the thumbnail slider option, but it gets really clunky. Probably my image sizes.
Again,
Thank you for the very cool extension! It's amazing!

"ARI Orbit Slider" can be integrated with "ARI Sexy Lightbox", not with "ARI Sexy Lightbox Lite". About problem with "ARI Pretty Photo", specify please what browser you use.

Firefox 3.6.16
Safari 5.04

joomla 1.5.15

Is it fine on your end?
I don't have access to a PC to check Explorer, and I don't have Chrome (not intel yet).
Thank you and sorry, I should have clarified.

Try to add the next CSS rule to site template CSS file:

Code:

DIV#pp_full_res
{
 overflow: hidden;
}
