Look at test.cal-sailing.org

It shows one image, and that's it. It does not show the navigation arrows. I did didable loading jquery, which fixed a problem where the submenu items dropped behind the slideshow.

It seems this is a javascript conflict (for example several instances of jQuery library are loaded on the page). Could you provide a temporary access to your J! backend by email so we can investigate the problem?

This is a problem with site template which you use. It removes javascript code which is added by the module via Joomla! API. The module works fine when another template is used (for example "Atomic" template). You can contact site template developers so they fix this problem.
