Hopefully a simple question regarding the module

I want to show a list of documents under the selected article which is selected via a menu item

The data table module is then shown in the left position showing the documents in that selected category.

For example when uploading documents a user has to select the article id they belong to so say article id 13

There are many articles and documents... is there a way to only create the one module and have the query use a WHERE articleid-ofdoc = $articleid ????

You can try to use "id" request variable (link to an article looks like index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=ARTICLE_ID). Query will look like:

SELECT
id,
title
FROM
#__content
WHERE
({$REQUEST:id|empty:''} <> '' AND id = {$REQUEST:id|empty:''})

would this be able to work with SEF's ?

ie /article123 rather than the long url

It should work because SEF URL is translated to a plain URL.
