Images can be stored on your server and path (URL) to images can be stored in a database. In this case you can use "Columns settings -> Format" parameter to convert a link to HTML image. For example if "img" column contains links to images, set "Columns settings -> ID" parameter to img value and "Columns settings -> Format" to the following value:

<img src="{$value}" />
