Add SwimmerId request variable in "Columns Settings -> Format" parameter for the first module and you can use it in the second module in the next way:

SELECT SwimmerId, Result FROM Swimresult WHERE EventId = {$REQUEST:eventId} and SwimmerId={$REQUEST:SwimmerId}

is there any way to get the first module to look like a drop down box? which passes the variable on select

Hello, You can place drop down box outside the module and reload the page with selected value in drop down box. Regards, ARI Soft
